Baking soda and vinegar creates a chemical reaction which is awesome! In this activity, we will create a DIY lava but before starting this, make sure that you’ve got enough towels with you to clean up the lava flow.
What you will need:
- Baking Soda
- Vinegar
- Big container that can hold everything
- Towels (Paper or cloth)
Instructions:
- Pour baking soda into your container
- Then add some vinegar
- Watch how baking soda reacts to the vinegar.
Extra Tip:
You can also create a realistic mini volcano for some impressive show. This will require more time and craftsmanship but, it will be worth it. You can use cardboard for the volcano covered with brown clay or just paint it with color brown. Make sure that you have a container inside the crater of your mini volcano.
Simple Explanation:
Base and acid when reacted together forms an unstable solution called carbonic acid. Baking soda is a base while vinegar is an acid hence, these two things created carbonic acid. When the two ingredients are mixed together, it instantly breaks into water and carbon dioxide and escapes the solution with a fizzing effect.
